What if you don’t want to drop the velocity? I’d rather control that with ammo choice.
Since velocity is based on burn rates, barrel length and projectile mass (mostly)… the term “engineered to drop the velocity…” means “we cut the barrel length to be shorter than ~10 inches”. Hyper-velocity ammo might still go supersonic, but the idea of an integrally suppressed firearm is that the suppressor encompasses the entire barrel and then some, and your Form 4 for the suppressor will likely have a “length” of 16″ (or 16.1″…) – the entire length of the tube that houses the barrel and the suppressor, which means it’s also not a 2 stamp gun (SBR + Suppressor).
So, to answer your question, if you don’t want the velocity to drop, then don’t get an integrally suppressed firearm that has, by design, a shorter barrel.

Ammunition compatibility:
The Vanquish AR-22 is not compatible with CCI Stinger hyper-velocity ammunition because the Stinger case is slightly longer at .702″ versus .613″ for a traditional 22LR case. Instead, if you want to shoot a high velocity round, we recommend the CCI Velocitor as it uses a normal case length and is still rated at 1,435 ft/sec. But hey, you’re shooting suppressed, why would you want to break the sound barrier? Keep it quiet and choose standard velocity or subsonic rounds for the best sounding shots.
