EDC Excellence: Streamlight Wedge and Wedge XT Lights Now in More Colors

As our friend and contributor Paul Markel preaches with conviction, you should make it your daily business to ensure you always have the Fundamental Four. That is, something lethal, something sharp, something bright, and something medical. In plain English, that means a firearm, a knife, a light, and a med kit (including a tourniquet).

The light’s that’s been my daily carry go-to for years now has been one Streamlight Wedge model or another. The full-length, USB-rechargeable version lives in my backpack and the more compact Wedge XT is the light that’s most often in my pocket. Now Streamlight’s come out with new colors for both models because…why not?

Streamlight, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting, has introduced vibrant new colors to its popular USB-C rechargeable Wedge series of everyday carry (EDC) flashlights. The original Wedge now comes in Orange and Lime Green, and the Wedge XT is now available in a Silver finish. The new options are designed to offer greater personalization while providing the same compact design and exceptional performance that outdoor enthusiasts, first responders, auto and industrial technicians, and consumer users rely on.

“As the Wedge series grows in popularity, we’ve expanded the color options to meet user demand for lights that stand out while maintaining the rugged durability and high-performance features Streamlight is known for,” said Michael F. Dineen, Streamlight Chief Revenue Officer. “These new colors allow for greater individuality and ease of identification when using these trusted EDC lighting tools.”

The slim, USB-C rechargeable Wedge provides 300 lumens in constant-on mode and a 1,000-lumen THRO (Temporarily Heightened Regulated Output) mode for a 35-second burst of high intensity light. Its intuitive rotating thumb switch allows for easy one-handed operation, and the light features a rugged anodized aluminum body with a textured grip. Compact and portable, the Wedge measures 5.46 inches long, weighs just 3.3 ounces, and is IPX7-rated for waterproof operation. The Wedge also comes in Black, Coyote, Red, Blue, and Purple.

The Wedge XT delivers 500 lumens on high for two hours and features a tactical push-button tail switch for momentary or constant-on use. Its compact size, at 4.25 inches long and weighing 2.62 ounces, makes it ideal for clean pocket carry. The light includes a Five-Tap lockout feature to prevent accidental activation and is IPX7-rated for waterproof performance. The Wedge XT also comes in Black and Coyote.

All Wedge Series lights include a USB-C charge cord and a convenient pocket lanyard.

The new Wedge in Orange and Lime Green has an MSRP of $173.49, while the MSRP for the Wedge XT in Silver is $159.65. All models come with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

  1. ok, this flashlight madness has got to stop. The ‘gun community’ has been over run with the over-glutted market over-abundance of flash lights in everything from spot lights to weapon lights to EDC pocket lights to molle-or-something-else clip on lights to head lamp lights and every thing in between, in all different intensities and lumens and candella and shapes and styles and even for thermal/night-vision sight use.

    😂

    1. I’ve told nearly everyone within my circle over the past couple of years that I don’t need any lights, blades, gadgets, belts, holsters, et al.

Just give me ammo for my birthday. And yes…transfers are still allowed here in CA despite our recent ammo BGC law, albeit max of 50 rds between individuals. So if everyone showing up to my next bday party brings one box (starts invitee list now…)

Can the battery be replaced, or is it disposable?

$160 is a *lot* of scratch to throw in the trash…

        “It’s rechargeable.”

        I’m sorry, I wasn’t clear enough.

The question I was asking is, when the rechargeable battery eventually dies 5, 10 years in the future, can the user replace the battery? Does it use an industry standard size or form-factor?

160 clams is a lot of scratch if a new battery can’t be fitted…

        1. non- user replaceable. you send it back, they send you another.
now i want to take one apart.
it’s not going to roll off the table, looks like a poor tailstander (ass end good place for magnet).
for me the lack of a moonlight (so low you can look into the reflector) low kills it.

Thanks, that’s a no for me.

I don’t see any screws, so it’s possible you need to hit it with heat gun to soften the glue…

  3. so, which color means it works the best and I’m better than you?

If I were to get an Orange one does that mean I’m better than someone with a Lime Green or Red or Blue or Silver? Like, ya know, snobby apple iPhone people do.

    😁

    1. I have plenty of lights with black or “gray man appropriate” colored housings, but I did buy one that’s bright red, specifically for Mrs. Haz so she can easily recognize it in a low light situation (it’s on her nightstand on her side of the bed).

One problem I’ve had with bedside lights is the annoying habit they have of being knocked off when fumbling for it in the dark. Now you’re groping around looking for it.

I dealt with it by mounting a small hook on the side of the headboard to hang it by the wrist strap. I now exactly where to move my hand to find it, even if its pitch black… 😉

  4. too expensive and complicated for me. i do like their penlights (streamlight stylus): just on and off. and only twenty bucks. olight has some us produced ones too if you care and have the extra scratch
