I asked a leading AI bot to generate some thumbnail options for the Shooting News Weekly YouTube video embedded above. They weren’t usable, but I sure got a good laugh out of ’em.
My first prompt asked the bot to look at the SNW YouTube channel and generate a few thumbnail options for the Ruger Red Label III shotgun video that were in the same style as the rest of our thumbnail images. Its images were fun, but the AI-generated firearm had nothing to do with the Ruger. So I refined the prompt:
Okay, now it knows not to change the shotgun or the people, and I’ve provided reference photos (though it should be able to pull this from the video that was also provided). The results were . . . they were not better.
Hahahahaha that’s the first one with my “exact appearance” and the “precise” shotgun.
In real life I died laughing, and in AI life the much more rugged, swole Jeremy is about to die as well. Though the wife probably wouldn’t complain, that is not what I look like and the shotgun is . . . I mean . . . just wow.
This one is approaching usable. I guess?
Okay, we’re in the ballpark now. It ain’t me or Dan, it ain’t the Red Label III, but it’s close! Not close enough that we’d actually used it, but close enough that it didn’t induce an uncontrollable laughing fit.
Anyway, our AI enslavement hasn’t arrived quite yet. Maybe tomorrow.
