Good Guys With Guns – Not Police – Stopped the Michigan Synagogue Attack

Michigan Temple Israel attack

The attack on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan yesterday underscores a timeless truth. A 41-year-old Muslim terrorist, Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, rammed his explosive-loaded truck through the synagogue’s doors, armed with a rifle and hell-bent on carnage. The man was an “immigrant” from Lebanon.

Inside, 140 children and staff were vulnerable….aside from the synagogue’s armed security team. They bravely and heroically sprang into action. These everyday heroes, empowered by their Second Amendment rights, engaged the terrorist immediately, firing shots that neutralized him before he could unleash more horror.

Ghazali’s vehicle erupted in flames, but no innocents were harmed beyond one guard’s non-life-threatening injuries from the impact.

As is virtually always the case, only after the threat had been neutralized did police arrive to act as armed historians. The real saviors were the armed civilians on site.

How laughable, then, that groups like the Brady Campaign twisted what happened into a win for law enforcement. Their narrative conveniently ignores the facts: security guards—again, good guys with guns—stopped the threat cold, preventing a potential massacre.

Brady’s knee-jerk push is always for more restrictions that would have disarmed those in the synagogue, making those in houses of worship soft targets for evil. Imagine if Michigan’s gun control zealots had succeeded in banning carry in sensitive places—many of those kids might not have made it home. It’s not just misguided, it’s dangerously naive, prioritizing feel-good policies over real-world protection.

SNW’s Kostos Moros pointed out the obvious on X when he called out the Brady Campaign and their fellow travelers.  He wrote that it wasn’t the police that stopped the synagogue attacker yesterday, but ordinary men and women with guns who stopped the attack long before police could possibly respond.

Once more the only thing that stops bad people with evil in their hearts is good guys with guns.  In this case, good guys had guns and weren’t disarmed by short-sighted, unconstitutional gun control schemes.

From a gun rights standpoint, the Michigan synagogue attack validates what we’ve known all along: the Second Amendment isn’t a suggestion, it’s a lifeline. You are your own first responder. Armed citizens deter and defeat threats faster than any distant 911 response. Synagogues, churches, schools, malls and communities nationwide should emulate Temple Israel’s standard of preparedness, arming responsible individuals to safeguard innocents.

Gun control advocates like Brady and Moms Demand Action peddle their illusions of safety through disarmament.  Some even mock the fact of life of good guys with guns preventing criminal attacks, which happens millions of times each year, trying to suggest that reality is a myth. Day and and day out—from this attack to countless other instances —they’ve been proven wrong.  Yet they soldier on with their twisted lies and deceptions.  Their schemes only empower criminals while hobbling the law-abiding, violating their constitutional rights in the process.

In the end, Ghazali’s rampage ended not because of red tape or waiting periods, but because good people refused to be victims. Let’s honor that by rejecting unconstitutional bans and championing the right to bear arms everywhere. The next would-be attacker might think twice knowing Americans are ready to defend what’s theirs.

  1. Seems like this and every situation like it could’ve been prevented years before occurring. In this case specifically about 15 years ago.
Where’s the “red flag” crew when it comes to importing third world neanderthals who adhere to a hateful and oppressive ideology that promotes female slavery, executing homosexuals and violence toward those who do not follow the same superstitious nonsense?

Maybe 15 years just wasn’t enough time for this fellow to become a good, friendly, tolerant, doormat American pleading for the rest of the worlds cretins to stomp all over him. Maybe he just needed 20 or 25?

The drawbridge needs to be pulled up and the invaders along with their enablers need to go by any and all means necessary. Let’s export all the blue-haired banshees to Lebanon.

“Tragedies like these are preventable ” by good guys with guns, as evidenced here and hundreds of other cases over time. Those good guys with guns Brady claims does not exist. No to cast shade on the police here, but they did not save anyone. It was over before they even started arriving, thanks to on scene good guys with guns.

Had these people had to wait on police there would have been a victim body count. The terrorist had to be stopped then, not 4 or five minutes later. If a ‘mass-shooter’ is not stopped in the first 30 seconds after they become active the body count rises exponentially almost. Thankfully there were good guys with guns there to make sure that did not happen.

The one thing Brady and the rest of the anti-gun orgs are not about is actually saving lives. Hundreds of thousands of lives are saved annually nation wide in all sorts of situations, by good guys with guns, that ordinary law abiding armed person – yet you never see Brady or any of the anti-gun orgs giving thanks for those lives saved and that’s because Brady and the anti-gun orgs are not about saving lives but rather about agenda to eventually do away with the 2A and other rights while importing their favored group of terrorist Jihadis into the country by voting democrats into office with the same agenda of doing away with the 2A and other co9nstitutional rights.
