Darwin Crowns Another One: Chicago Home Invader’s Career Ends Suddenly

In the dead of night on Tuesday, around 1:30 a.m., yet another low-IQ Chicago criminal made a sudden, career-ending error in victim selection. He missed the homes with the ‘In This House…‘ yard signs and homeowners who piddle themselves in fear when a home invader breaks into their residence. Instead, he found a house with a prepared homeowner who didn’t hesitate to protect himself.

The still unidentified scholar — let’s just call him Exhibit A in the “Darwin Award Hall of Fame”—decided a single-family residence in the 2200 block of East 103rd Street looked like an easy mark. He forced entry, then made the single dumbest decision of his short, pathetic life: he charged straight at the armed homeowner like a brain-dead zombie.

Maybe Exhibit A thought the homeowner didn’t have the stones to shoot. Maybe he thought he could take the gun away from him. In the end, he thought wrong on all counts. In a life full of poor decisions, his last one was a doozy.

The 33-year-old man who lives in the house wasn’t some helpless, willing victim waiting for someone from city hall to come and save him. Instead, he was wide awake, well-prepared, and properly equipped. One calm, center-mass shot to the chest later, the home invader hit the floor and stayed there. Problem solved.

Authorities pronounced Exhibit A dead right there at the scene. Just desserts, delivered with surgical precision by a law-abiding citizen who refused to become another statistic.

This is what happens when the criminal class chooses poorly and the law-abiding among us have the right to keep and bear firearms for lawful self-defense. It’s probably fair to assume that because of the relative paucity of gun owners in a strictly gun-controlled deep blue city in a deep blue state that the bad guys probably assume that every door leads to a sheep.

They don’t know that despite government’s best efforts, over two million Illinois residents own guns. Moreover, a significant percentage of those folks train, practice, and stay ready precisely because politicians have turned our streets into a playground for predators. This lowlife loser, however, FAFO’d the hard way: armed homeowners aren’t playing.

Criminals, in general, are a special breed of stupid. They ignore every warning sign, every news story, every clear message that good people are fed up with being prey. They keep testing their luck against folks who have jobs, mortgages, kids, and a God-given right to protect what’s theirs. And every time one of the mouth-breathers gets ventilated, the rest of the pack acts shocked. Newsflash: natural selection is still in operation.

Meanwhile, in a city that handcuffs the good guys while babying the bad ones, the homeowner stood tall and sent a message louder than any mayoral press conference: come for us and you’ll leave in a bag. This is the real Chicago story the media will minimize rather than celebrate: prepared citizens winning, thugs losing, and justice served.

Keep your powder dry, Illinois. The morons haven’t learned yet.

ABC7 minimized the story this way . . .

A male home invader was shot and killed inside a residence on the South Side Monday morning, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 1:30 a.m. in the 2200-block of East 103rd Street.

Officers responded to the scene and found a person shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
