A stunning report alleging that many of the American-made guns showing up at Mexican crime scenes were originally purchased by the Mexican government should trigger an official investigation, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is demanding.
“Contrary to what America has been told for years—that Mexican crime guns are obtained illicitly from U.S. gun dealers thanks to lax gun laws here—it now appears the Mexican government may be a major source of those firearms,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Once again, it appears U.S. gun dealers and the Second Amendment have been taking the rap for violent crimes in another country, when the truth is staggering.”
Going back to 2010 and an Obama administration scandal known as Operation Fast and Furious, during which the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives office in Phoenix allowed some 2,000 guns to be “walked” into Mexico, American gun owners, retailers in the southwest, and our gun laws were ultimately blamed for drug cartel violence south of the border.
But now, veteran journalist Sharyl Attkisson and former ATF agent John Dodson have blown the whistle, again. Attkisson originally broke the story about the Fast and Furious scandal, and Dodson was the man who came forward 16 years ago to expose that debacle.
But now, the story has taken an alarming new twist, and CCRKBA is demanding full disclosure.
“The American people have a right to know the full truth,” said Gottlieb. “The movement of American firearms into the hands of Mexican drug cartels is now more than just an Obama administration scandal. This is no longer a tale about a rogue ATF operation and a bunch of gunrunners. It’s a scandal involving the Mexican government.
“Until we get some answers,” he added, “all U.S. government-approved gun sales to Mexico should be halted. We’re calling on Congress and the Trump administration to launch a joint investigation. The Mexican government had the audacity to sue American gun companies for problems it created in its own country. Mexico owes the U.S., its firearms businesses and its gun-owning citizens an apology, and instead of blaming us, they need to admit their own culpability for the bloody violence that is continuing to grip their nation.”
These governments ARE the cartels.
I wouldn’t be surprised to discover the cartels already have massive inroads into our government.
Why else would so many politicians be defending open borders and taking the side of smugglers?
As a thought experiment let’s keep the overdose body count the same but replace the drugs with anthrax, ricin or any other NBC item.
Would we still be so tolerant or would we be defending our border with the full force of the military? What are these drugs they’re smuggling if not chemical weapons? Doesn’t that make these smugglers enemy combatants?
We’ve invaded and destroyed foreign nations for far, far less.
The Trump admin basically forced Mexico to help weaken some of the cartels. What they did was assist in taking out the competitors of Mexico’s preferred cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). Do you remember hearing about the U.S. and Mexico working together to dismantle the Sinaloa Cartel? That was CJNG’s main competitor.
Why else would so many politicians be defending open borders and taking the side of smugglers?
Because Democrats see demographic change as an easy way to maintain power. I remember reading articles about permanent Democratic control due to demographic shifts way back in Obama’s first term. Democrats have given up on trying to win over American citizens by working for them.

President Trump needs to issue an ultimatum to Mexico with a deadline. Clean up their country, end the corruption, shut down the cartels, and secure the border. They can ask the US for help and we’ll provide it but if they choose to do nothing then we’re going to come in and do things for them and they won’t like how we do things. Their problems are affecting us so we have every right to demand that they fix them. Of course we all know that they’ll choose to do nothing but Trump needs to make it clear that if they do nothing then they really won’t like the US’s response.
Unfortunately, the citizenry can’t stand up to the cartels because they have no guns. If they’d kept their guns, they’d be able to tell the cartels “not this village, go somewhere else. You’re not welcome here.” If every village was able to stand up to the cartels, eventually the cartels would have nowhere to call home but the middle of the desert. Maybe we should start airdropping FGC-9s.

Well, no one checked my comment in moderation (reply to Shire-man). Basically, the U.S. forced Mexico to work with us to degrade the cartels. So what Mexico did was help to take out the competition for their preferred cartel. I named names in my comment above. I’m not sure why it went to moderation.
Mexico seems to be a good(or bad depending on one;s view) example of what a disarmed society becomes.
Why are not David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh mentioned as the investigative reporters who initially broke the scandal of Fast and Furious? It is good that CBS had their people pick it up and run with it after Dave and Mike did the initial digging. CCRKBA should credit their work in bringing that travesty to light.

In testimony someone said Biden said he didn’t remember signing a pardon for Hunter when being prompted to say nationally that he did pardon Hunter and why – this has called it into question. There is also question as to when it happened, some indicated a pardon (and some others) had already been signed by autopen without Bidens approval before Biden said he would not pardon Hunter.

Trivia: Most of you know that the U.S. coin penny has been discontinued and the U.S. government will stop producing new pennies by early 2026. It now cost four cents to make one penny. It doesn’t mean that penny’s still in circulation are not ‘legal tender’ for they will remain so but what it does mean is that eventually you will see prices rounded up to the nearest five cents and the, say. “.99” cent thing on price tags will be no more, and a small piece of what built our country and culture will be no more for after all for many generations of kids the penny was the first kind of coin learned about and one of the first coins that went ‘clink’ in piggy banks and the penny was part of the very foundation of our educational system and finances and businesses and country growth. But think of it this way…that container ya got stashed away when you dumped your pocket change, some of those penny’s might one day be valuable collectors items without having to be ‘unique’ or ‘historical pre-20th century’ or ‘first mint edition’ etc… but ya know how that works out so there is no guarantee.

Welch is echoing what the majority of the left wing wants – anyone they deem is MAGA to be killed.
