Under the Trump administration’s aggressive enforcement of the nation’s immigration laws, crime plummeted across America in 2025. Homicides nationwide showed a historic decline last year. Even America’s murder capital, Chicago, saw 30% fewer homicides compared to 2024’s totals.

The United States is witnessing an unprecedented decline in murders with 2025 projected to mark the largest one-year drop on record, an analysis of crime data indicates.
Crime analyst Jeff Asher, using data from the Real Time Crime Index, said murders have fallen nearly 20% nationwide between 2024 and 2025 following a 13% decline the previous year.
Several major cities hardest hit by gun violence were reporting sharp decreases.
Baltimore has been down 31%, Atlanta 26%, Albuquerque 32% and Birmingham at nearly 49%.
Nationally, robberies, property crime and aggravated assaults have also fallen by 18%, 12% and 7%, respectively.
Homicides are a good measure of overall crime trends as they can’t easily be buried or “misreported” by local police and politicians as less serious crimes. And this comes despite warnings of rampant violence by the gun control industry after the Bruen decision was handed down in 2022.
Meanwhile if you didn’t already hate the mainstream media enough, here’s a reason to hate them even more. Over at ABC News, they wrapped the great news about the homicides declining in reminders of terror attacks. Here’s their opening paragraph:
This year began with a deadly New Year’s Day car-ramming terrorist attack in New Orleans and is finishing with a flurry of horrific shootings, including a mass shooting at Brown University, but 2025 is also poised to end with the largest one-year drop in U.S. homicides ever recorded, according to data from cities both large and small.
See how they conflate one, possibly two terror attacks with garden variety gang violence in America before reporting the otherwise good news about the steep drop in homicides? There’s not a single mention in the 1915-word report of the administration rounding up violent, criminal illegal aliens and deporting them as a huge contributing factor in the precipitous drop in crime last year.
That shouldn’t surprise anyone. These are the same corporate media outlets that can’t find one single instance of daycare fraud in Minneapolis.
In the end, we should all celebrate the precipitous decline in violent crime. At the same time, we should also remain vigilant. Don’t get complacent about carrying the tools with which to protect yourself and your families from violent criminals. They’re still very much out there. It’s also a very good idea to have legal defense coverage to protect against prosecutors in the aftermath of a defensive gun use when prosecutors fail to lock up serial recidivists.
