One of the latest talking point from the Harris for President campaign is that she’s an experienced, tough-on-crime prosecutor who “knows Trump’s type.” She’s even claiming — apparently with a straight face — that she’s been tougher on enforcing the border than Trump was when he was in office. Unfortunately, the facts about her allegedly tough prosecutorial record and border policies don’t support the current campaign hype.
Harris’s run for the presidency has resurfaced the story of a triple murder that was committed by an illegal alien she had refused to prosecute on gun possession charges. The illegal’s name is Edwin Romas, an MS-13 gang member. The New York Post brought up him in a recent article about her upcoming problems should she get asked about them:
Edwin Ramos, an illegal migrant from El Salvador, committed a triple murder in 2008 in San Francisco when Harris was district attorney.
Ramos’ gruesome killings of three members of the Bologna family — Tony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16 — rocked national headlines and led then-Mayor Gavin Newsom to change the city’s policies on juvenile crimes.
Before the triple shooting, Ramos had been arrested several times as a juvenile for being involved in a gang-related assault on a bus passenger and an attempted robbery of a pregnant woman, per the San Francisco Chronicle.
In both cases, he was not referred to federal authorities because it was a city policy not to question the immigration status of juveniles.
In the weeks after the shooting, Newsom changed city policy so that illegal youths would be reported to federal authorities if they were arrested.
Harris did not seek the death penalty against Ramos, in keeping with her campaign promise, despite calls from the mother and widow Danielle Bologna.
“It was senseless,” Danielle Bologna said at the time, per the San Francisco Chronicle.
“And to think they didn’t deport him back, knowing that he did not have papers and he was here illegally, it is a big issue.”
“They need to take responsibility, the city,” she said.
“They didn’t do anything. … He should have been deported. This is huge. I’m extremely angry about this.”
In 2003, Ramos and friends assaulted a man on a city bus. He was charged with assault, convicted and placed in a shelter. City officials never alerted federal immigration authorities who, because of the felony conviction, should have deported him.
In 2004, four days after his release, Ramos tried to rob a pregnant woman. He later was arrested, convicted and sent to a city-run camp. City officials never alerted federal immigration authorities who, because of the second felony conviction, should have deported him.
In March, San Francisco police pulled Ramos over because his car had illegally tinted windows and no front license plate. Someone in the car fled, and tried to throw away a gun, which forensics later tied to a double murder. Ramos was arrested, but the office of District Attorney Kamala Harris failed to prosecute him.
The Associated Press . . .
The heinousness of the deaths has put pressure on San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris to seek the death penalty against Ramos. Harris, who campaigned on an anti-death penalty platform and has never pursued capital punishment during her more than four years in office, has declined to say exactly how she intends to proceed.
Spoiler alert: she didn’t ask for the death penalty in the Ramos case.
In the end, three people died because DA Kamala Harris thought allowing illegal aliens to remain in the sanctuary city of San Francisco was more important than protecting the lives of the city’s residents. Even if an illegal is caught with a gun.
That isn’t even the end of the story. When Ramos was tried, it came out in court that before murdering the three members of the Bologna family, Ramos had carried out a gang hit against a rival.
From the San Francisco Chronicle . . .
An informant told the FBI in 2006 that Edwin Ramos had killed a gang rival in the Mission District, records show, raising questions about why Ramos wasn’t taken off the streets before his infamous slaying of a man and his two sons in San Francisco in 2008.
Documents filed in a separate San Francisco murder case say Jaime Martinez, a leader of the MS-13 gang who became a paid government informant – and whose niece was once married to Ramos – met with FBI agents in April 2006.
Martinez told the agents that Ramos, also an MS-13 member, had killed a rival Norteño nicknamed “Chino,” using a disguise to sneak up on him and shoot him at 25th and Capp streets, according to the legal filing last week by attorney Dennis Riordan.
Riordan said the information is in an FBI report summarizing an interview by an agent, filed April 11, 2006.
Two weeks before the FBI interview, Rolando “Chino” Valladares, 21, had been gunned down at the Mission District intersection.
There’s no evidence that the FBI had informed the San Francisco DA about the gang hit Ramos carried out, but again, Harris had multiple opportunities to prosecute and deport Ramos. She didn’t. And three people died as a result.
Oh, and you know who’s just fine with all of this? The Gun Control Industry…that’s who.
We deserve a president who is willing to do what it takes to end gun violence and keep our communities safe. @KamalaHarris has proven time and time again that she is that leader.

DA Kamala Harris could have prevented or stopped a lot of violent crime if she had simply prosecuted all those caught who committed crimes. Instead, she spent her DA time metaphorically screaming “Gotta ban guns, lets go after the law abiding gun owners.” and letting criminals go free in their victim trap called a ‘sanctuary city’.
“@KamalaHarris has proven time and time again that she is that leader.”
Ya take away the PR and sound bites and in reality, over all, KamalaHarris couldn’t lead a pack of girl scouts to a cookie sale.
I wouldn’t let her near my girls. Or my cookies.
