Michael Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun Agitprop Outlet is Panicked Over the State of ATF Under Trump

No federal agency has withered under President Donald Trump’s second term quite like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Before Trump took office, the nation’s long-beleaguered gun regulator was enjoying a resurgence. It had won small budget increases and ramped up enforcement of gun laws. A permanent director took over for just the second time in two decades. Research staff had published a series of comprehensive gun trafficking reports, and agency investigators had shuttered a record number of gun stores for violating federal laws.

But Trump, who campaigned on a promise to reverse virtually all of his predecessor’s work, quickly set about dismantling these changes.

In one year’s time, he has effectively starved the ATF of resources and support. He nixed regulations meant to expand background checks for gun purchases and relaxed penalties for lawbreaking gun dealers. He proposed slashing the agency’s budget, and he has diverted agents away from fighting violent crime to beef up immigration enforcement. After the ATF’s permanent director resigned, Trump twice installed inexperienced interim leaders as replacements. He then proposed laying off 20 percent of the agency’s staff.

The tumult has rattled current and former ATF agents, who have called the apparent disdain for their work demoralizing. “It’s like drinking out of a firehose with this administration,” said Jason Moore, who worked in the ATF’s undercover operations for 22 years before retiring in 2023. “It’s hard right now to know which way is up.”

  1. BOMBSHELL | SCOTUS Issues Ruling DESTROYING ACTIVISTS JUDGES… COMPLETE VICTORY. [rules 5-4 in favor of Trump giving the president expanded authority under the ‘Alien Enemies Act’ clearing the way for faster deportations of illegal alien gangs/terrorists – reigns in activist judges – and basically that everything the democrats and left wingers said on this trying not to deport illegal aliens was a lie, Trump does indeed have authority to do what he is doing – in other SCOTUS rulings this weekend so far, Trump as president does have authority over federal funding after all.]

    1. clarification for: “Trump as president does have authority over federal funding after all.”

      meaning for the executive branch.

      1. In other court wins, a federal judge, Biden-appointed – threw out Minnesota’s attempt to keep ICE out of Minnesota and Trumps ICE surge and roundup of illegal aliens can continue – Buh Bye ‘neighbors’.

        1. Judge Stops Attempt to Halt Minneapolis ICE Operations.

    2. correction – clarification: the SCOTUS ‘Alien Enemies Act’ ruling happened in 2025, not this weekend, but now its being used even more so became relevant again.

  2. Actually thinking of the children: Border Czar Homan – 145,000 Unaccompanied Alien Children Rescued From Biden Era Neglect.

One of the more horrible aspects of the mass illegal immigration that was allowed to fester under the presidency of Joe Biden and whoever was running the autopen was the number of unaccompanied illegal alien children that went missing. Most estimates place the number at 300,000. Until recently, we didn’t know what had become of those children.

Now, we have nearly half of them back. On Friday, Border Czar Tom ‘The Hammer’ Homan took a few moments off from staring down ICE protestors in Minneapolis to take note of this on his official X account.

    ‘Thomas D. Homan
    @RealTomHoman
The dedicated, talented, and compassionate men and women of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Office of Refugee Resettlement at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services continue to tirelessly to run down hundreds of thousands of leads and work numerous investigations to locate more than 300,000 unaccompanied alien children that the Biden Administration turned over to unvetted sponsors, lost track of, and weren’t looking forward. Through their outstanding efforts, they have so far been able to locate more than 145,000!

President Trump promised that we would find these children, and under his strong leadership and with his unwavering support, the patriots at these, and other partner, agencies have been—and will continue to do—just that.’

  3. BREAKING – CBP-involved shooting after ramming incident in Texas.

“Border Patrol was seen on video apparently shooting at the tires of a moving car in Laredo, Texas, on Saturday. The video comes as there have been other shooting incidents involving Border Patrol as well as ICE over the past few weeks.

The video shows a vehicle ramming into a law enforcement vehicle in reverse and then driving forward. As the vehicle started to drive away, federal agents appeared to fire shots at the tires of the vehicle.
