For some people, it could be that their primary purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others. Such seems to be the case of an aspiring rapper from Virginia named Rylo Huncho. Rylo had a cool pistol with a green laser and a flashlight. While taking a break, probably from studying for his advanced placement physics final, he fired up TikTok, waved his gun around for the camera…and pulled the trigger. Unfortunately for him, that caused the gun to work exactly as intended.

The handgun was pointed at his head at the time, ending his promising career as a rapper, but launching him into negligent discharge immortality as a poster child for gun safety.

The Post Millennial has the story.

On Thursday, 17-year-old Virginia-based rapper Rylo Huncho fatally shot himself while filming a TitTok video.

In the video posted to his Instagram stories, Huncho was seen flipping the barrel of a handgun and holding it by the grip to show off the flashlight with a built-in laser sight. He then grabbed the grip, turned the gun towards his head, and said, “F**k Y’all N*****s” while pulling the trigger.

In a GoFundMe set up by Hucho’s cousin, she explained that “Suicide/accidental was the cause of his death,” but they were “still trying to figure out why.”

The family has set up a GoFundMe account to pay for his burial.

“My aunt recently lost her 17 year old son from a self inflicted gun wound to the head,” the post read. “He was her only son! She was a single parent but took care of her son the best she could.”

“Please keep my family in your prayers,” she concluded.

According to Times Now, Huncho’s friend, Twin Porter, broke the news to fans on his Facebook account. In a post he said, “to get a text saying he passed away is heartbreaking and to hear the mean things y’all are saying about Railey is so wrong on every level please god give his mother the strength to deal with the devastating pain she’s in.”

In response to the video on X, many pointed out the need for training on the safe handling of firearms. Youtuber Amiri King said, “This is why I don’t advocate for cornballing out with firearms to look hard.”

“I wish they force taught gun safety/firearm curriculum in ‘the hood’ and/or high crime areas,” he added. “I think teaching 2A and weapon respect would put a dent in dumb s**t like this.”

We can only echo Mr. King’s desire for firearm safety courses in schools. The question is, would they have much impact on people like the late Rylo Huncho. Good gun safety makes for boring photos and snoozer TikTok videos. It also makes for longer, happier lives with less collateral damage.

While he’ll no doubt be missed by his friends and family, we can only hope that Rylo accomplished the noble purpose in life of warning of the dangers of what can happen when basic gun safety rules aren’t observed. Whether its yours or  a gun you’ve recently stolen.

  1. It’s funny that this is a thing to such a level people feel the need to make PSA statements against it.

Just step back, grab a lemonade and let nature take its course. Any effort made to convince morons to not do moronic things is wasted at best and contributing to the drain on civilization at worst.

By all means cornball away. I’d hate to be accused of colonizing, white savioring, dis-re-spek-ing or anything else. I want you to have full agency and autonomy in whatever safe space you need to cornball to your hearts content.

    1. I’m pretty sure it would be racist to correct him. Also, he didn’t know better thanks to racism.

  2. Social media is absolutely hilarious. Add this incident to people who fall off cliffs or get attacked by wild animals while in the quest for the perfect selfie. I say let them do what they want, it cleans the gene pool, but do your best to stay clear of any collateral damage.

    1. Johnny,

A close friend from work used to regularly wear a large button (you could read it from 20 feet away) that said “I think the gene pool needs a dose of chlorine”. Yeah, that’s about how I feel, too.

  3. “…and said, “F**k Y’all N*****s” while pulling the trigger.”

And that’s *exactly* what he did.

Stupid game played, stupid prize won, mission accomplished.

I archived that, because something tells me that’s gonna evaporate in short order…

  4. Needless to say, but I will, what the heck is a 17yr old doing with a pistol if gun control actually works. I am suprised he did not have a switch on it to make it even more illegal. That would have been an interesting video.

    1. It’s still there it just takes some backdoor surfing. When it shows it as not available. Long in to X and while logged in click back until it appears. I just watched it again @ 10am Sunday 5/21. Just as hilarious now as when I saw it the first time.
