Silencer Review: Mack Bros. Zenith vs. PRS-170 .30cal Suppressors [VIDEO]

We previously reviewed the Mack Brothers Zenith .30 cal suppressor — it’s solid! — but a recurring question arose from that review: what’s the difference between the Zenith and the PRS-170? I spoke to Mr. Mack and he said that the dB reduction is very similar between the two. The only other bit of info I got was that the Zenith, with its muzzle brake end cap installed, reduces recoil by a larger amount, in particular on magnum calibers, but that it comes at a small cost to sound suppression performance.

As that was the extent of the information provided to differentiate these two all-titanium, .30 caliber suppressors, we figured it was time to get them both in-hand and shoot ’em side-by-side.

Turns out that did provide us with some solid insights. Check out the video above to see the Zenith vs. the PRS-170 in action with both supersonic and subsonic loads.
