Blanche’s silence made the celebration possible — but just weeks earlier, he had told a different story to the Senate.
On July 15, Blanche submitted written answers to the Senate Judiciary Committee in which he was asked whether he believed the National Firearms Act should be invalidated.
“The Department’s duty is to defend the constitutionality of the laws passed by this body,” Blanche wrote. “To that end, the Department is presently defending the NFA against constitutional challenges.”
Those answers were submitted while his confirmation vote was still pending before the same committee.
Well. It’s 92 years and several republican presidents, and their judge picks for the courts later. So it takes, that long, to start getting our freedom back.

It’s also been that long since industrial hemp was made illegal. The progressive types hate guns and they hate weed. And they hated beer too. President Trump made hemp legal again. Back in 2018.
As I see it, this victory will be *very* state-specific, depending on where one lives, and if one is a member of the right 2A rights organization, like the 2A Foundation.
Here in Florida, I’ll have to dig in to it, to see if Florida has one of those “NFA items are illegal unless” laws so many states have.
To put myself in a better position, I’m re-joining the 2A Foundation, and will wait until this thing shakes out a bit in my jurisdiction.
I do wonder if Dan will celebrate this by buying a can and walking out of the Silencer Shop the same day. I hope he films the entire transaction, from start to finish, blanking out and personally-identifying self information.

Suppressors are either assassins tools for killers to super secretly kill busloads of children or they’re giant, heavy, cumbersome do-nothings on the end of your rifle.
I assume the former is the take of the blue-haired shrews and the latter the take of Boomer Fudds who “carried in Korea” or some other bullshit.
Not a sane, pragmatic, honest or experienced take in the lot but they’re all so damn certain.

I’m so happy this is happening now. However it is also very timely. Last week the Idaho defender used his EDC suppressed gun to stop a murderer. Before that, the idea of carrying a suppressed sidearm everyday was being debated. Not anymore.
Now how long or how short will EDC suppressors become?
The shorter the can. The louder the gun will be. The longer the can, the more difficult it is to conceal.
