As we rapidly approach oral argument date before the Supreme Court, we now take a look at the response brief filed by the State of Hawaii, that of course thinks their law is totally ok. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the very dangerous arguments advanced here by Hawaii and points out that should the Court decide to make a broad ruling, this could be very dangerous precedent. Problem is, that a broad ruling may be what’s required considering all the challenges to 18 USC 922(g)(1) which are likely to be GVR’s following the ruling on Hemani. So America, you need to be aware that there are some very dangerous arguments being advanced here and we need to carefully watch how the Supreme Court handles this issue.
