    1. “Until I decided which gun I wanted.”

Well, don’t keep a moron like me in suspense, what did you buy?

      The Ruger LCR in .22lr?

      1. I wanted a hammerless gun. That was more important than having a real rear site. There are so many higher cost guns, with just a rear gutter site???

The ruger LCR in 22lr was not available. Not one of my local gun stores had it. Nor was it available from the distributors they used.
So I looked at all the internet sellers. I chose the Charter Arms “Walker”. An 8 shot 22LR hammerless snubby revolver. It’s a new gun for the company. I purchased it over a year ago. I even thought about writing a gun review for this website.

        Spoiler alert.
I’m very happy with my purchase.

When I do buy guns I have spent months researching them. Before I spend my limited resources on one.

        Thanks for asking.
        😀

        1. That looks like a very interesting little revolver! I’m gonna have to go look at one.

I was advised many years ago that 8-9-shot .22lr revolvers were very handy tools to have around, and they are better at self-defense than many think.

That *wonderful* Federal ‘Punch’ ammo is very good at punching holes is skulls to make the bad people stop doing bad things to you or the ones you love…

  1. I generally don’t just buy a new gun. I’ve got a list (by action, caliber, manufacturer, etc.) of what I want, and I will watch prices and ask around (I have a source of really good people I trust, partly because their opinions vary) when I’m ready to buy.
“I want a lever gun.” OK, what did my sources say about the various companies? What are the differences in calibers available? Oh, hey, there are different _kinds_ of lever gun actions? Hmmm, what does that mean for my choice? I look around on the internet, but I always go back to those good people I trust and see what they have to say.
