Just minutes after Vance Boelter, 57, was caught, disarmed and arrested in a field near his Green Isle, Minnesota home by one of the 20 SWAT teams that had been searching tirelessly for him, the legacy media began speculating about his personal politics and motivations.
Boelter was an extreme threat who had a lengthy list of additional victims. Police said they found three AK-47s and a 9mm Beretta handgun in his SUV, which he left at his second crime scene after committing two murders.
As a native Minnesotan who grew up hunting and fishing in L’etoile du Nord Boelter’s horrific killings should be difficult for me to understand, but as an ex-cop I don’t even bother. We will probably never understand his true motive(s), and all the media blather about his personal politics is just a waste of our time.
I’m much more concerned about his victims and their families: Minnesota DFL (Democratic Farmer Labor Party) leader Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, both of whom Boelter assassinated, and state Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, who were both horribly wounded but will likely survive.
These four victims and their families deserve our prayers.
Unfortunately, Boelter bears all of the attributes that the mainstream media seeks in a mass-killing suspect whom they wish to exploit for ratings. We’ve all seen this before. The media had teams going over every single message he posted online, and every single message he liked or republished.
What the media never gets right is that rational people don’t commit crimes based on what they read online. In other words, online rhetoric doesn’t cause folks to break the law. It causes them to go to another website.
Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty, another DFL member who previously served as Hennepin County’s chief public defender, strongly pushed the politics button during a press conference Monday morning.
“Political violence is prevalent, and the way we talk to and about each other has raised the threat to unfathomable levels. We cannot continue on this way,” Moriarty said. “As we navigate our daily lives, we need to find way to support one another. As our community grieves, I encourage those out there seeking to create additional chaos that it’s time to stop spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories.”
This wasn’t the first time the Soros-backed Moriarty’s words have raised serious questions. Just last month, the U.S. Department of Justice launched a formal investigation into her office after she told her prosectors that they must now consider a defendant’s race when negotiating plea deals. Her race-based plea negotiations should have been national news, but most of the state’s reporters are DFL members, too.
Boelter’s own history shows he was reportedly mentally troubled. As a result, state officials are likely to try to use this case to further erode the Second Amendment rights of the other 5.8 million Minnesotans. Thankfully, their plans may have ended around noon Monday.
Federal charges
Joseph H. Thompson, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota, said during a press conference that Boelter’s killings were “haunting” and “the stuff of nightmares.” As a result, Thompson said, Boelter now faces federal charges.

Thompson described the six-count federal complaint that Boelter now faces, which includes several charges punishable by the federal death penalty. Thompson declined to comment on whether his prosecutors would seek the death penalty.
“This was the largest manhunt in Minnesota history,” Thompson said. “The men and women in federal and state law enforcement put their lives at risk. We owe them all a debt of gratitude. The last 48 hours have been an incredible testament to the professionalism of our federal and state law enforcement.”

Dispelling the Big Myths About Suppressors.
“With everything that is going on with the Big Beautiful Bill (Reconciliation Act) and Suppressors, Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, decides to take on four of the most common myths that are being used by those on the left to keep suppressors regulated under the NFA. Today, with our help from our good friends at Securite Gun Club, we put to test some of these myths so that you can arm yourself with education and help bring this all important piece of legislation home. ”

If a person sets out to intentionally comit an act of violence intending to murder, and commits or attempts to commit the act of murder – they are a murderer or an attempted murder.
The left wing media is fussing as though this guy was the only murderer or attempted murderer this past week. They are ignoring that this past week there have been thousands of left wing acts of violence attempted murderers on the streets attacking the country in various cities, and they even wrote their intent down by spray painting it on public property.
Everything matters. We live in a society. These things affect all of us. Plus, obscuring details creates mistrust.
I read the linked Times article. It doesn’t give any details. Per the article: He said Mr. Boelter had been experiencing financial and mental health challenges.

Ya know, the left wing media has been claiming that Boelter voted for Trump and was a Trump supporter etc…. all the usual stuff, you know the same old tired song they sing while ignoring the thousands of violent attempted murderers attacking with stated, written, and action intent to carry out harm and murder wishes…. so I will not go over all that. But….was Boelter really ‘right wing’ and a ‘Trump supporter’ as they are trying to paint it?
No really, was he really ‘right wing’ like they claim? Both he and his wife sought out working for/with left wing organizations and democrats, and their life style sentiment and thought processes seem to have tended towards left wing. For example, in the above video link at 17:44 you can see Boelter and his wife while attending a left-wing support rally, look at the video at that time and see the way they are dressed. And there is more information in bits and pieces that indicate their attendance and participation at rallys and events before and after the 2024 presidential election in support of left wing and democrat causes. That’s sounds pretty much left wing mindset and dedication to me.
Then there is the thing about a weird ‘hybrid’ of political ‘orientation’. For example, during the 2024 election we know that life long democrat voters did vote for Trump but they still continue to cling to some left wing causes and mindset while acknowledging via their votes for Trump that the left-wing and democrats have been ruining the country. So was Boelter a ‘hybrid’ of political ‘orientation’ or was he really left-wing who voted for Trump like thousands of left-wingers did in the 2024 election? There is a lot of mental illness among the left-wing political orientation, study’s and researchers overall place it at ~70% of left-wingers have some form of mental illness that adversely slants/biases their perception of reality in some aspect – especially among liberal left wing females – and its very persistent where on the right wing its overall less and variable at around a range of 8% – 12% and less persistent. (note: ‘overall’ used here means all aspects of ‘world view’ is self-generated in life style, politics, and self and not grounded in factual reality. We see this mental illness a lot in the left wing, more recently from democrat politicians, the current ‘combat’ attacks on the country in cities by violent left wing attempted murderers and the left wing media trying to claim its ‘peaceful protest’, for the last four years we have been seeing a lot of it in ‘Trans’ and their supporters and the ‘forceful’ indoctrination of children.)
So was Boelter like this? A mentally ill left winger, a ‘hybrid’ of political ‘orientation’?, It seems he tended towards one of those maybe – but his actions for murder were mental illness, there was planning maybe indicating a clear thought process at some point, but it wasn’t really because the targets don’t make sense for a person that the left wing media claims was ‘right wing’ and a ‘strong Trump supporter’. He really didn’t express in life style actions a solid ‘right wing’ and ‘solid Trump supporter’, with him and his wife seeking out left wing causes and democrat environments. There was a mixture of ‘left wing’ and ‘right wing’ targets, not just democrats were targeted as republicans were targeted also – it seems more like a ‘just kill everything you don’t like’ list like the actions of the violent left wingers are now in the streets with their ‘destroy everything you don’t like’ actions.
So what ever Boelter was, no matter how he may have voted in the presidential election, it kinda doesn’t matter as to ‘political affiliation’ even though he was in his life-style actions and mindset more a mentally ill left winger. In his violent actions Boelter simply did not ‘discriminate’ in his ‘political violence’ just like thousands of violent left wing attempted murderers this past week, and on going, are not discriminating in their violence towards law enforcement and businesses and looting and destruction of private property that also encompasses those who are left-wing.
