Translation: Washington bureaucrats decided long ago that you’re too untrustworthy to buy a pistol in Oklahoma if you live in Texas — even though it’s perfectly legal for you to own that same handgun in your home state. But instead of standing up for the Constitution, the court folded.
The judge declared these sales restrictions “reasonable commercial regulations” and claimed they didn’t even implicate the plain text of the Second Amendment. This is a complete betrayal of the Bruen standard, which makes clear that every modern restriction must be judged against the text, history and tradition of the Second Amendment.
Instead, the court just gave the DOJ a free pass to continue trampling on gun owners’ rights in the name of “modest inconvenience.” And who’s leading this charge? Pam Bondi’s Department of Justice.
Bondi’s DOJ didn’t hesitate to double down and defend the unconstitutional handgun sales ban — just like they recently did with Biden’s tyrannical “Engaged in the Business” rule, the backdoor gun registry cooked up by John Cornyn’s BSCA.
And if that wasn’t enough, her DOJ is also defending the unconstitutional US Postal Service gun ban, the very law a federal judge has already struck down as leaving law-abiding Americans defenseless just for picking up their mail.
It’s a disturbing trend. Bondi came into the Trump Administration swinging, but she’s quickly sliding back into the Bondi of old — the same one who consistently stabbed gun owners in the back as Florida’s AG by supporting red flag laws, refusing to stop local gun control ordinances, and siding with the establishment elite over the grassroots.
Now, instead of dismantling Biden’s anti-gun legacy, she’s preserving it — and in the process, kneecapping Trump’s pro-gun agenda.
What’s Next?
This fight is expected to continue playing out in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals where we have the best shot of striking down this unconstitutional relic once and for all. And Texas Gun Rights isn’t sitting on the sidelines. We’re closely reviewing this case and preparing to file an amicus brief in support of FPC’s lawsuit.
Because if the courts won’t listen to the plain text of the Second Amendment, then the grassroots needs to make our voices heard loud and clear. But this entire lawsuit proves why gun owners can’t blindly trust politicians, judges, or even “pro-gun” administrations to do the right thing.
Even the friendliest presidents need to be held accountable, because once they’re surrounded by establishment advisors and swamp lawyers, betrayal is always just one step away.
Bondi’s DOJ has chosen sides once again, and it’s not with you, me, or the Constitution.

“We took the freedom of speech away, because that’s been through the courts, and the courts said you have freedom of speech but what has happened is when they burn the flag it agitates and irritates crowds,” Trump said during a roundtable discussion on antifa. “I’ve never seen anything like it, on both sides, and you end up with riots.”
While the United States Constitution makes no mention of a national flag, it does guarantee freedom of the press and speech.
A president who is willing to take your first amendment rights will also be willing to take your second amendment rights.
But remember, that’s what you voted for!
Not so fast there, 40-whiner. There are limits to 1A free speech, just like there are 2A limits to the RKBA.
I served under that flag, and I’m okay with prosecuting your fellow travelers for burning the symbol of freedom in circumstances that amount to inciting people like me to riot.
And don’t forget, we also voted against the indefensible:
– Reverse discrimination in the form of DEI;
– The illegal alien invasion;
– Neutering minor children, and men in women’s sports;
– And finally, a non compos mentis lush.
And let’s not forget the egregious 1A violations under the Biden Admin when anyone tried to speak out against their Covid/Vax narratives. We didn’t hear Miner complaining about that. It’s almost like the Left has no principles. They pretend to have principles when it’s a situation that favors left-wing ideology, like say hating the USA.

Besides, the legislative branch establishes the framework for criminal sentences, the judicial branch applies and approves those sentences, and the executive branch can recommend but does not set definitive sentences.
