Guns & Whiskey: I Wrote a Book!

Here I am, expecting my wife to say “oooh” and “ahhh” as I show her, yet again, my gallery of gun and whiskey photos. “You should make a coffee table book,” she says. I didn’t see that coming. I thought she was out of her mind. But here we are!

I took about 100 of the photos — each a different firearm paired with a different bottle of whiskey (bourbon, Scotch, Irish, Tennessee, and all the rest) — wrote a no-holds-barred review for every gun and every bottle, then compiled it all into a hardcover coffee table book called Guns & Whiskey.

The “official” press release is pasted below . . . I just didn’t feel right about it running on SNW here without me being upfront and saying, yes, it’s my book and I’m shamelessly plugging it. It would mean the world to me if y’all would give it a look and maybe share word of it with friends who might be interested! Perhaps I’ll even sell enough to take my wife out to dinner to pay her back for the idea and the shockingly large amount of work she unknowingly signed me up for LOL.

Guns & Whiskey Coffee Table Book

July 2025, Texas –
Firearms. Whiskey. Probably the perfect book! From Jeremy S., Deputy Editor of Shooting News Weekly, comes a new coffee table book titled Guns & Whiskey

Guns & Whiskey contains over 100 photographs, each a pairing of one firearm and one bottle of whiskey. Every gun and every bottle of booze also receives a brief review — sometimes brutal, sometimes hilarious — by photographer and experienced gunwriter, Jeremy S.

Firearms range from mild to wild, common to rare, war era to ultra modern. Likewise, the whiskeys in these pages span from $12 bottles to can’t-get-’em bottles, and Jeremy certainly doesn’t sugarcoat his opinions on any of it.

This full color, hardcover coffee table book is printed on 8.25″ x 11″ gloss paper and is a great addition to any “man cave,” whiskey lounge, bar, gun shop, shooting range, or living room. Perfect gift for father’s day or just ‘cuz!

Guns. Whiskey. What more could you want?

Guns & Whiskey is available on Amazon HERE.

    1. “Alcohol and guns…two things that absolutely do not go together”

Sure they do, after the range session while cleaning your guns.

      Sheesh…

    2. Guys who collect firearms have other hobbies and interests, and they tend to include one or more of whiskey, cigars, cars, BBQ, watches. I’ve spent a hell of a lot of time with “gun guys” in and out of the industry whether at trade shows, media events, hunting, competitions, etc. and, trust me, alcohol does go together with my people LOL. Just don’t be dumb, it’s drinking prior to shooting that’s an issue. Don’t worry, you can’t get drunk from photographs.

      1. drinking and plinking is fine. what are we amateurs? we are not.
there’s a reason some pizza boxes come with bullseyes printed.
