According to LAPD Captain Warner Castillo, a man broke into the San Fernando valley home of an elderly gentleman on Friday. The intruder was naked at the time and the old man was armed. As Fox LA reports, Captain Castillo says that . . .
The 79-year-old man tells the suspect to leave, tells him I have a gun and I will shoot you. The suspect grabs the 79-year-old man, lifts him, throws him on the ground, and that’s where the 79- year-old man suffered two broken legs.
Despite his injuries, the old man pulled his gun and opened fire.
“The suspect got shot one time and the suspect still approached the 79-year-old, shot the suspect again, killing him.” Police said the victim shot the man at least two to three times.
This appears to be yet another example of why it’s a bad idea to f@ck with an old guy.
A resident across the street said the man had been trying to break into homes before. A neighbor said two women were also in the house at the time of the break-in, and the 79-year-old man is a Vietnam veteran.
The homeowner was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery to repair his legs. Here’s hoping his recovery is fast and complete. Meanwhile, the as yet unidentified naked home invader’s criminal career has come to conclusion, news which will no doubt please local residents. Another successful defensive gun use brought to you by the right to keep and bear arms.
