ANDREW Mountbatten-Windsor has had his gun licence revoked in the latest blow to the ex-prince.

Keen huntsman Andrew, 65, agreed to give up the certificate after specialist police visited his Royal Lodge home in Windsor.

He has been a regular at posh shooting parties and a source said: “It’s a real blow to him.”

The disgraced ex-prince regularly hosted events at Windsor, Sandringham and Balmoral but has not been seen on any since his brother the King stripped him of titles.

To cap a disastrous year, Andrew can now only use, or transport, his shotguns if accompanied.

A source confirmed to The Sun: “He will be under strict supervision. It is a real blow.”

Andrew — believed to own shotguns and rifles by James Purdey & Sons — sent a lackey to speak to police visiting him at Royal Lodge, Windsor, Berks, last month.

The ex-prince then agreed to give up his certificate after discussions.

Gun licences are reviewed regularly and cops can act if the holder has a change of circumstances or there are public safety fears.

Cops are not believed to have seized firearms from the home but placed conditions on how they are kept and who has access.

He must have been very agreeable, because apparently he agreed twice to “give up his certificate after discussions”

  2. son, you got a purdey mouth.
weird how the country that hand tools among the finest sporting weapons in the world makes it nigh on impossible to own one.

        1. except…. more correctly, it should have been ‘nigh impossible’ and not ‘nigh on impossible’

‘nigh on’ means an amount, number, or age – means almost that amount, number, or age

‘nigh impossible’ means nearly; almost as in ‘Its nigh impossible to get a permit.” (‘its nearly impossible to get a permit’ or ‘its almost impossible to get a permit’ > which I’m pretty sure from the structure of what you wrote and the context is what you intended to post with ‘nigh’)
