A family member recently told me about a new product for the firearms industry that really impressed him. A close family friend of his, the company’s co-founder, has shared information about the product over dinner conversations. When I finally got my hands on the product, I have to agree, it is a game-changer for anyone who carries a firearm in a case. Gone are the days of dealing with pick-and-pluck foam inserts or setting up a different case for every rifle or handgun you need to transport. I am beyond excited to share the Corvus TALON Modular Case System with you.
First, it’s important to know that the Corvus TALON Modular Case System is currently designed to fit specific cases, with more coming soon. You can find a list of those on the website. These custom sets are needed because the foam base must work with the blocks to keep them secured.

The firm foam base is impact-absorbing, with premium hook-and-loop on the other side. According to the website, it’s easy to clean with a damp microfiber cloth. I haven’t had to do that with mine yet.

Next, the blocks. These are available in three shapes: pistol seat, diamond block and arrow, in sets of four. Again, with more shapes coming. Designed to absorb shock, the blocks are easy to pull off and move around for different configurations. I spent time setting up a 42-inch Plano case in various configurations, using rifles with and without scopes, trying to determine the most secure variations. Let’s just say the options are limitless.
Another storage block available is an AR-15 30-round magazine rack. This is a great addition to the set, as it allows for secure storage of empty or loaded AR-15 magazines. There is no need to worry about them shifting around in the case, and it’s not necessary to carry them in another tote.

I’m not going to get into the specifics of what the parts of the Corvus TALON are made of or the testing it’s undergone. The company is very transparent, and you can find all that information on the website under the “How it Works” tab.
For those who want to customize the look of the blocks, accent caps are available in seven different patterns with a wet (gloss) or dry (matte) finish. Heck, why not add a little bling to your gun case?

The TALON Modular Case System will truly streamline my trips to the range. With its thoughtful design, I can transport all my firearms and accessories securely in a single case, without worrying about items shifting or getting damaged. My case easily fits both rifles and pistols—sometimes two rifles, or even several pistols—which makes hauling everything a breeze. I can even include a spotting scope and suppressor, should I need them. I’m certain the convenience and protection it offers will make a noticeable difference in my trips to the range.

The people at Corvus set out to address every common complaint and shortcoming found in products designed to transport firearms in cases. The result is a product that’s exceptionally user-friendly, constructed from top-tier materials for lasting durability, and offers virtually limitless customization options. In my opinion, this Columbus, OH-based company has truly solved the challenges of firearm transportation with the TALON Modular Case System.
