No muzzle flash from the shotgun. Defense atty has also noted that. Not saying he’s innocent, but this doesn’t gel. Ain’t if it don’t gel, it ain’t aspic.

No, the agent was not shot by friendly fire. New video has been released that shows the killer shooting the agent.

New Footage Appears to Show Would-Be Trump Assassin Shooting U.S. Secret Service Agent.

[note] the video is a little long and shows the left winger wanna-be killer moving around the hotel, but the part where he charges through the security check point and shoots the agent starts about 4:24 in the video. You see him charge through and shoot the agent on his right (your left looking at the video) and that is the agent that got hit in the vest. There is a a section of the video after that which has been slowed down starting at about 5:02 that shows this more clearly.]

And another thing: all they have is poor quality, low resolution, low framerate video of the event? Huh? Why don't they have outstanding quality, 4k ultra-high definition video at 60 frames per second?

The entire layout was faulty--very badly faulty.

First of all, why did the Secret Service create a simple straight path down the hallway, through the metal detector, and beyond? The proper layout was to use simple obstacles (such as tables or portable short wall panels--or even simple posts and velvet ropes) that required a person to go back-and-forth--and place those both before and after the metal detector. (I am referring to the layout that amusement parks use as you approach a popular ride where people are in a very long single-file line that goes back and forth.)

Second of all, why not place all agents on one side of the entry system? That way they can all open fire on a suspicious person trying to breach the entry system without any worry of shooting each other.

Aside from the above, it is simply asinine that the Secret Service failed to install ballistic panels under the dinner table and behind the short curtain hanging off of the dinner table. If an attacker did somehow manage to get past the entry system, all the VIPs would have to do is duck down and be totally protected from all frontal attacks. Then there would be little if any need to form a huddle around any VIP to hustle them out of the venue.

This isn't rocket science.

I hope this entire event becomes a massive new training scenario. Because its obvious everyone needs it. The local police. The National Guard. The Secret Service. There are far too many who demonstrated a serious lack of urgency. Guns still in there holster. Security personnel just walking around. Not moving with sense of purpose.

The guy who shot him was probably trained buy a moron who uses phrases like "position sul" and thinks "temple index" is is a good idea.

The U.S.SS DEI program is obviously still in place.
