DOJ's Strange Infatuation With This Gun Law.

Here we go again, and like clockwork, DOJ is all in on defending the NFA, even for those items moving to $0.00 taxation next week. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the matter of Brown v. ATF, one of two major challenges to the NFA's application to the now untaxed items. For the second time now, DOJ has gone all in and filed their own motion for summary judgment asking that the Eastern District of Missouri strike this challenge down. This DOJ has done some pretty good things for gun owners nationwide, but their strange infatuation with all aspects of the NFA remains one of their most troubling habits.

Dangerous Lie Courts Still Believe About Bullets.

"This [Illinois] true crime story exposes one of the most dangerous forms of junk science still used in American courtrooms: ballistics and forensic firearm identification.
...
For decades, police, prosecutors, and so-called forensic experts have testified with absolute certainty that a single bullet or shell casing could be matched to a specific gun 'to the exclusion of all others.' This video reveals how that claim is not science at all—and how it has destroyed innocent lives.
...
At the center of this case is Patrick Pursley, a man sentenced to life in prison based almost entirely on ballistics testimony. No DNA. No fingerprints. No eyewitness identification. Just a confident expert telling a jury that the bullets from a crime scene matched a gun with 100% certainty. This is a textbook example of junk science in criminal law, and it highlights a growing crisis in forensic evidence, police investigations, and crime scene analysis.
...
This video breaks down:
• How ballistic “fingerprints” are claimed to work
• Why firearms identification lacks scientific validation
• How police and forensic labs present opinion as fact
• The role of crime labs in wrongful convictions
• Why courts are beginning to challenge forensic testimony
