I have owned various Hi-Powers, and frankly, I see zero benefit in shortening a 4.7″ barrel to 4″ and thus lessening the velocity of the round from the original pistol. And it’s not like a 4″ pistol carries all that much easier than a 4.7″ pistol, all else being the same. I won’t be buying one. That said, gun writers seem to be raving about them, so I expect Springfield will be selling a lot of them.
