Yes, an illegal alien, here in our country without right or permission, is BY DEFINITION a criminal . . . and an insult to all the people who do it legally, and jump though all the hoops. I am more than happy to have the discussion about “what our immigration laws and policy SHOULD be” (and we should have had that discussion long ago), but if you ignore the ‘due process’ of legally entering the US, why, exactly, do we owe YOU ‘due process’ to evict your illegal @$$, and exactly what process are you ‘due’???

8 USC 1252 and 1325. Those are BOTH federal crimes. They MAY be prosecuted (the first time) as ‘misdemeanors’ (which are still, BTW, a federal crime) but they remain crimes. And ‘due process’ means, literally, legally, ‘that process to which the defendant is due, under the circumstances’. You broke in illegally, and per federal law and the Constitution, you are entitled to either an immigration hearing before an immigration judge (NOT an Article III judge), or summary deportation, depending on circumstances.

No, “everyone” shouldn’t carry . . . but the 2A says everyone has the right to. Being one of those libertarians who believes rights come with responsibilities, I take my responsibiliities around carry (open or concealed) very seriously, and I would hope everyone else would do the same. The weekends and money I’ve spent practicing and training and attending classes speaks to that. This guy scans like exactly the kind of moron who should, if acting RESPONSIBLY, not carry a weapon; he’s not mentally equipped.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I would NEVER draw down on an LEO, but if I even did, I would do so knowing full well I was probably about to commit ‘suicide by cop’. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t do it, but I’d sure as hell do it knowing it was likely to be the last thing I ever did.
